In the first installment of this series, I told you about how scouring the fringes of conspiracy theory, one is bound to come across the text of the speech Our Race Will Rule Undisputed Over The World, and that the CIA’s possession of a tract of this text is regarded by some as proof of a Jewish conspiracy bent on world domination. I also told you how the speech and the rabbi are made up, but that part of the story is very interesting indeed. The story of how the text of the speech came to be sent to the CIA is fascinating.
In this second part of the story, we will look at some background of the world in 1952 that led to this note being sent.
The Story Thus Far
In the first part of the story, I told you of a mysterious CIA document with a handwritten note from an unidentified sender who congratulated Director of Central Intelligence General Walter Bedell Smith on his “startling statement” which “shocked and surprised” members of Congress.
Our mystery sender referenced an enclosure with their note that would “shock them more“. The CIA document also includes this enclosure, and an acknowledgement of receipt from the Assistant to the Director.
What is going on in the fall of 1952 that could be so shocking?
A “Shocking Revelation”
Remember that this is an era in which Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin stated that communists had infiltrated our government. The House Un-American Activities Committee is now a standing committee and McCarthyism is in full swing.

President Truman
Since the establishment of the post of Director of Central Intelligence in 1946, there had been three directors, none of whom wanted the position. In 1950, to solve this “revolving door” problem of DCI directors, Truman appointed General Walter Bedell Smith to the post and tasked him with fixing the CIA.
On September 29, 1952, during a deposition, Smith made a statement indicating that communists had infiltrated every security organization of our government, including the CIA.
THAT was a “startling statement“ that quite likely “shocked and surprised so many complacent government officials and Congressmen” (as referenced in the handwritten note of our discussion).
The very next day, on September 30, 1952, Arthur Summerfield, who was head of the Republican National Committee at the time, made a very public and national announcement about this, calling it a “shocking revelation” and giving national (and international) coverage to this news.
Why would that be such a big deal?
Think “October Surprise”. This is 1952, a presidential election year. Truman, a Democrat, is President of the United States. Eisenhower is the Republican candidate. The election is just a month away. Here’s a chance to show that Ike is the man to address this nefarious communist plot. Fear of the Soviet Union and communist domination is the order of the day.
Our note sender clearly saw the announcement by Summerfield and knew, as a freedom loving patriot, he must alert Smith of information that he (the note sender) had, for he had in his possession a tract published by one Einar Åberg.
Meanwhile, in New Zealand
Put a pin in the Smith/Summerfield/Eisenhower thing for just a moment and return to the note. Or more specifically, the unknown writer of the note. Even before I discovered the actual identity of the sender of this note, it was my opinion that the writer of the note was in New Zealand.
Why did I think that? Well, the detail of the address is redacted as well as part of the note where the writer says they sent it to Dulles, Bradley, and citizens in <somewhere redacted> and Australia. My best guess is that the redaction there is because it is the same as the also redacted address detail.
But they didn’t redact the street and city.
Looking carefully at the street address, it is 24 Oxford Terrace. The barely legible city appears to be Devonport, which is just outside of Aukland, New Zealand. And anyone with Google Maps and even marginal Internet search skills can find out that there is only a single “24 Oxford Terrace, Devonport” address anywhere in the world, and that is in New Zealand.
I later came to completely confirm this as true, which I will explain in a later post.
